"I got my first 'real' coaching job in 2003 when I coached the Makai Wahine 17's pictured above. We didn't know it at the time, but four of the eight girls would go on to play in college. Ami Drake and Lauren Holton played at Methodist, Kari Ham played at Mt. Olive, and Tanika Jones played at Barton. Since then I've been very lucky. I've had the pleasure of working with players that went on to Catawba, Queens, Appalachian State, Cape Fear, Pitt, and Lenoir just to name a few. And over the next two years we'll have a real chance of sending five or more players to some of the finest Division I and Division II schools in the state. That's why we put 'Team 1st'. Most of the top college coaches can find skilled players. The hard part is finding solid players that will do whatever it takes to make the team better. Those are the players that will always put 'Team 1st', and those are the players that I want on this team!"
